Research/Training opportunities for students

Research activities at NIMR:

The National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR) is a nationally accredited institute for performing cutting-edge research in both field and laboratory oriented topics in basic, applied and operational aspects of malaria and other vector-borne infectious diseases.  While the field-oriented research is mainly conducted at the 10 well-established field units located in different malaria endemic places of the country, research activities at NIMR in New Delhi are dominated by laboratory-based methods, with field support from the field units as well as from adjoining areas.  Research works on all the three organisms (malaria parasites, vectors and humans) involved in malaria are performed in different subjects by scientists with different fields of expertise. Research works on clinical and phramocological aspects of malaria are also been actively performed at NIMR. The details of expertise of each NIMR scientists can be found at www.mrcindia.org/scientist.htm.
